As part of our mission to educate citizens on the vital work of the UN, UNA-EO hosts monthly meetings to discuss international topics. Our speakers discuss international non profit organizations, global current events, multilateral cooperation, cross culture interaction, and the role of the UN. A few of our distinguished speakers include Gillian Sorensen, former Assistant Secretary General of the UN and the late Justice Opala of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Special Events include our UN Day Dinner held at the Oaks Country Club and our Annual Potluck. For a complete list of this year’s schedule, see our events calendar. Our organization is also dedicated to educating youth, and sponsors local high school and collegiate Model UN programs. Students attend conferences all over the nation, representing one of the 192 member countries in committees that tackle subjects such as nuclear proliferation, economic development, and human rights.
